Practice Session

Practice sessions are for people who wants to have a Yoga workout session to improve their body condition in a consistent pace. Is is assumed that you have solid grasp of Hatha Yoga fundamentals (similar to the Foundational Yoga Class) to follow through the contents in the practice sessions. Unlike the beginner’s Foundational Yoga Class, in Practice Session we will go beyond the our comfort zone to build up the flexibility in a consistent manner.

Every week, we explore an asana, a flow or breathing concepts and every week will be different from other weeks. You are not expected to perfect the topics we explore in practice sessions. Instead use this as a venue to workout and improve asanas that you may have either learned or not learned before.

Since we will explore exercises to extended our flexibility, I will teach you how to use props on various asanas to move beyond the basic fundamental level. You will need to invest in a pair of yoga blocks and a belt to go through the practice sessions.

It is highly recommended that you come at least once a week. Yoga, like any exercise requires practice to improve and it would only improve further if you are able to attend both classes in a week. You can register for the class on a monthly basis. Since there are no strict curriculum here, you won’t miss anything if you choose to take a break for any reason.

Every class contains at most 10 students to ensure that I can give close attention to everyone. We use Zoom for the online session and uses the WhatsApp group chat for day-to-day communication. Feel free to contact me if you would like to know more information before booking the class.

FAQs

 

Am I fit to take this class ?

This class is apt for people who have been doing Yoga consistently or have had a instructor led foundational course. If you are a beginner, then you should register for the Foundational Yoga Class instead.

What is the fee ?

Class is paid in full when you register. Group class meets twice a week for 4 weeks every month (8 classes in a month) and is $40. You register on a monthly basis.

What is the refund policy ?

You can cancel prior to the first day of the session to get full refund. Since spots are limited, there are no refunds once the session starts.

Do I have to come for both classes ?

I highly recommend that if you can, then come to both classes. We explore one topic in a week in depth. In theory you won’t miss anything if you just show up for one class. However, you will get more opportunities to iron out various nuances of an asana with both classes.

Do you offer private session ?

Yes. Contact me so that we can work out the timings. Monthly private session also lasts 4 weeks with 2 classes per week. Private session is $100 per person.

Do you provide in-person class ?

Not now due to the COVID situation. After December, in-person sessions will most likely start again depending on how the COVID situations improve.

What if I miss a class ?

Since we cover a topic/asana a week, if you miss one class in a week, you can catchup by showing for the other. If you miss an entire week, you will miss-out only on that topic. Since each week covers a different topic missing a week will not hurt your ability to follow asanas we practice in other weeks.

What if the instructor cancels a class ?

For every class that I cancel, 12.5% of the fee will be refunded.

Do I need to buy the props ?

Yes. Unlike the beginner’s Foundational Yoga Class, in Practice Session we will go beyond the our comfort zone to slowly build up the flexibility in a consistent manner. Thus most people would need blocks and a belt to ensure proper alignment, decrease injury while improving flexibility.
